Hello Friends

There’s a profoundly transformative practice that holds the key to overcoming anxiety, confusion, stress, and overwhelm like nothing else. And here’s the best part—it doesn’t demand anything special, it doesn’t cost a dime, and it doesn’t require you to venture anywhere.

So, what is this magical solution?

It’s as simple as slowing down. I understand, it might not sound particularly thrilling or unique. However, embracing this one small adjustment can genuinely revolutionize your life if you embrace it fully.

Our sleep can become shallow and erratic, our minds can wander incessantly, and we can gradually lose touch with our inner guidance. We stay busy, but ironically, we forget to prioritize the things that truly nourish us.

I have received many requests of late to send text reminders. The best way to connect to my clients quickly and without disturbance to ones busy day, offering a gentle nudge and reminder – have you booked in for your self care? Have you downloaded this month’s stress, or is it still lingering in your body or energy field. I will be offering all of my clients text reminders. I absolutely do not want to spam my people, it is an offering only to remind you to take that time for yourself, because lets face it – reminders are helpful in this day and age.

Practices like sound healing, yoga, Kinesiology, angelic reiki and meditation wield such power. They cleanse our bodies and nervous systems, wiping away the layers of overstimulation and distraction, allowing us to reconnect with the deeper currents beneath the surface commotion.

And you know what? It feels incredible to truly relax! It’s in these moments that creativity flourishes, and life flows effortlessly. From this state of flow, our actions become inspired and impactful, and we achieve more with less effort.

It’s a paradox—slowing down to speed up—but it’s undeniably true. Each intentional pause to breathe, to listen, to simply be, is an investment in your spiritual growth and alignment.

So, as straightforward as it may seem, sometimes all it takes is a moment to slow down. And who knows, in that moment, you might just find the inspiration to unroll your yoga mat or immerse yourself in your favourite calming music, nurturing your soul for a few precious minutes.

And if you need my help, I am here for you.

Love and Blessings,

Yoga, an ancient practice and meditation, is not just a trend, but a lifestyle that can transform your mind and body. In today’s fast-paced world, it has become increasingly popular for many people as it provides a retreat from their chaotic and busy lives. Whether you’re practicing yoga in the comfort of your bedroom or in an ashram in India, the benefits of yoga are undeniable, both mentally and physically. Let’s delve deeper into the various ways that yoga can improve your life.

There are many types of yoga, but Hatha yoga is one of the most popular styles. It is a physical type of yoga that focuses on pranayamas (breath-controlled exercises) and a series of asanas (yoga postures) that end with savasana (a resting period). The goal during yoga practice is to challenge yourself physically, but not to feel overwhelmed. At this “edge,” the focus is on your breath while your mind is accepting and calm.

One of the most significant benefits of yoga is developing inner awareness. Yoga helps you to focus your attention on your body’s abilities at the present moment, which helps develop breath and strength of mind and body. Yoga is not about physical appearance, which is why yoga studios typically don’t have mirrors. This is so people can focus their awareness inward rather than how a pose or the people around them look. Surveys have found that those who practice yoga were more aware of their bodies than people who didn’t practice yoga. They were also more satisfied with and less critical of their bodies. For these reasons, yoga has become an integral part of the treatment of eating disorders and programs that promote positive body image and self-esteem.

Another way that yoga can benefit your life is by helping you become a mindful eater. Mindfulness refers to focusing your attention on what you are experiencing in the present moment without judging yourself. Practicing yoga has been shown to increase mindfulness not just in class, but in other areas of a person’s life. Researchers describe mindful eating as a nonjudgmental awareness of the physical and emotional sensations associated with eating. People who practiced yoga were found to be more mindful eaters according to their scores. Practicing yoga helps you to be more aware of how your body feels. This heightened awareness can carry over to mealtime as you savor each bite or sip and note how food smells, tastes, and feels in your mouth.

People who practice yoga and are mindful eaters are more in tune with their bodies, which can lead to weight loss and maintenance. Researchers found that people who practiced yoga for at least 30 minutes once a week for at least four years gained less weight during middle adulthood. People who were overweight actually lost weight. Overall, those who practiced yoga had lower body mass indexes (BMIs) compared with those who did not practice yoga. Researchers attributed this to mindfulness, as mindful eating can lead to a more positive relationship with food and eating.

In addition to these benefits, yoga can also enhance your fitness. It is known for its ability to soothe tension and anxiety in the mind and body. But it can also have an impact on a person’s exercise capacity. Researchers studied a small group of sedentary individuals who had not practiced yoga before. After eight weeks of practicing yoga at least twice a week for a total of 180 minutes, participants had greater muscle strength and endurance, flexibility, and cardio-respiratory fitness.

Furthermore, several small studies have found that yoga has a positive effect on cardiovascular risk factors. It helped lower blood pressure in people who have hypertension, and it restored “baroreceptor sensitivity.” This helps the body sense imbalances in blood pressure and maintain balance. Another study found that practicing yoga improved lipid profiles in healthy patients as well as patients with known coronary artery disease.

So, what are you waiting for? Get yourself to a class and start reaping the benefits of yoga both on, and off, the mat!
